Be Your Own Valentine

Description:

Are you struggling to give yourself the love you deserve? Join us to learn, connect, and play at this social workshop focused on building connection with the love of your life (YOU)! For the first hour, clinical psychologists Dr. Chandra Khalifian and Dr. Kayla Knopp will lead you in a workshop to learn about why self-love is important for your relationships, how to build a secure attachment with yourself, and how to grow your sense of inherent worthiness. Next, you’ll have an opportunity to connect with new friends (or more than friends) and practice loving yourself in relationship with others. We’ll close the night with a fun, playful dance party and games. Come by yourself or with friends, partners, or intriguing strangers. People of all genders, orientations, and relationship structures are welcome: this is a queer, trans, kink, and ENM/CNM affirming event and space.

Note: This is a clothes-on event! While we will be talking about sexuality and intimacy and facilitating consensual connections with others, this event is strictly non-sexual in nature. All participants are expected to respect other participants’ boundaries at all times.

  • 6:00pm-6:30pm: Arrive, settle in, and mingle. Be sure to get there NO LATER than 6:30.

  • 6:30pm-7:30pm: Self-love workshop.

  • 7:30pm-8:00pm: Structured connection activities.

  • 8:00pm-10:00pm: Dancing, games, and opportunities to get to know each other.
